SORRY FOR BLOCKING YOUR CAR, NEIGHBOR!

The Boerum Hill Association today announced the availability of free double-parking courtesy placards to be placed on the dashboard when double-parking.

Placards will be distributed for free at Boerum Hill Association meetings and events, or download and print your own. (PDF 99KB)

The placards read in part:

I moved my car from the opposite side to permit our street to be swept. If you need to get out, please call and I'll move my car at once.

This complimentary dashboard placard has been distributed as a project of Assemblywoman Joan L. Millman and the Boerum Hill Association (BHA). The placard is intended for use during alternate side parking periods to balance the competing problems of street sanitation and the shortage of available parking places.

Neither Assemblywoman Millman nor the BHA condones double parking, which is illegal. Please understand that the user of this card assumes full responsibility for any penalties incurred whatsoever for double parking or any other traffic violation.
