You’ll be supporting your Boerum Hill neighbors who want to insure that Boerum Hill has a voice in issues that affect us. And you’ll have the opportunity to work and socialize with others who share your interests and concerns.

2005 Membership

You can now download a 2005 Boerum Hill Association membership form from our home page.

The Boerum Hill Association is trying to strengthen our communication with all Boerum Hill residents – an up-dated website, meeting summaries and announcements posted on the e-group, flyers posted in community locations, and occasional mailings and door-to-door distributions.

The BHA recently did a mailing to many Boerum Hill residents inviting them to join or renew their memberships. But our mailing list is limited. So you can now join the Boerum Hill Association by downloading the membership form, entering your information, and mailing it along with a check for 2005 membership. You’ll then be on the mailing list next time. You’ll be supporting your Boerum Hill neighbors who want to insure that Boerum Hill has a voice in issues that affect us. And you’ll have the opportunity to work and socialize with others who share your interests and concerns.

Finally, you can get to know us and learn more about your neighborhood by attending some of our activities. April events include:

• Monday, April 4 – BHA Board Meeting @ Bishop Mugavero Center for Geriatric Care, Dean & Hoyt Streets, 7:00 pm. All are welcome
• Tuesday, April 5 – "What Do You Want At The Atlantic Yards". A forum sponsored by the BHA Atlantic Yards/Arena Taskforce to be held @ the Belarusian Church, Atlantic Ave & Bond Street, 7:00 pm.
• Wednesday, April 20 – BHA General Meeting: Topic "Greening" @ the Belarusian Church, 7:00 pm.

Join the Boerum Hill Association

The Boerum Hill Association is made up of dedicated volunteers who promote the interests of residents and business people in Boerum Hill. We plan public forums on important community topics, initiate public safety and educational projects and engage in proactive community planning with our elected officials. We support development that is consistent with preserving the area’s neighborhood character, landmark architectural heritage, population diversity and the continue renaissance of Brooklyn. Join hundreds of your neighbors on the Boerum Hill egroup to find out about events in the neighborhood, get recommendations on plumbers, etc.

Membership and Development Committee Purpose

The purpose of the BHA Membership and Development Committee is to attract, maintain and increase membership in the organization. The committee works closely with other committees in providing them with information regarding the interests expressed by members and/or supporting the dissemination of membership information. It also develops and organizes special functions that support the overall purpose of developing membership. The specific functions that are carried out by the Membership and Development Committee are:

* Yearly membership mailing renewal and membership acknowledgment.

* Follow up membership renewals/notification.

* Maintenance of membership database and informing other committees of member?s interests.

* General mailings (i.e. voting, etc).

* Organizing special social functions aimed at promoting the BHA and increasing membership.
